Merina Woodroffe
Venezuelan artist, born in 1976. She studied Architecture and Interior Design.

She discovered her interest in painting at the age of 10. At 18, she received her first art award during a school exchange program in Ohio, USA, in the category of Color Pencil Painting, for a work depicting an eagle.

She worked as an Interior Designer in Venezuela and Mexico, specializing in furniture design, where she developed a strong relationship with space, form, and materiality.

Years later, she relocated to Mexico, where access to diverse materials and artistic training allowed her to explore new techniques and deepen her pictorial practice. During this period, she began producing artwork more consistently, initially for her personal environment. In parallel, she studied Reiki, discovering that meditation became a catalyst for her creative process, giving rise to intuitive forms and harmonious color compositions.

Drawn to nature and the reuse of materials such as containers, fabrics, and wood, she gradually integrated mixed media into her acrylic and oil works, achieving textured surfaces and a strong sense of presence.

In 2025, she created Art Puzzle, a conceptual chapter within her artistic practice that explores identity, presence, and consciousness through fragmented forms. Each piece functions as an autonomous entity, inviting the viewer into an intimate encounter where recognition replaces representation.
